Why tackle the big world of hospitality on your own? Group training is an employment and training agreement where an organisation, like HGT, employs and places apprentices and trainees with ‘host employers’. The group training organisation (GTO) is responsible for both quality and continuity of the apprentices’ and trainees’ employment and education. The GTO also provides a supportive learning environment through enhanced mentoring services offered to apprentices during their training.

Today, more than 100 of these companies service the industry with over 25,000 apprentices and trainees nationwide.

Group training has been a feature of Australia’s apprenticeship and traineeship system for almost 40 years. The promotion of training in traditional trades and employment of apprentices and trainees have made group training highly valued.
